POING does Jokke
After last year's smash success, POING delivers another celebration of a 40-year-old album. This time, rock legend Jokke takes center stage.
About the concert
40 years after "Alt kan repareres" was released, POING celebrates perhaps Norway's most important rock poet, Joachim "Jokke" Nielsen. Jokke wrote himself into the nation's soul with liberatingly honest lyrics about life on the margins, about friendship despite human cracks, and about solidarity with society's underdogs. His music is just as relevant today.
Christopher Nielsen is closely involved in this concert. He helps POING put Jokke in context through visual and conceptual elements. As Jokke himself said: "Hvis jeg var deg" (If I Were You) - you'd want to catch this one.

About Jokke & Valentinerne: Alt kan repareres
Jokke & Valentinerne: Alt kan repareres
"Alt kan repareres" was released in 1986 and became the beginning of a series of albums that have had an enormous impact on Norwegian rock over the past four decades. The master tapes disappeared after the first pressing, so all later releases are based on vinyl copies.
Jokke's lyrics, often delivered with ironic distance and a generous dose of dark humor, are always recognizably intimate, brutal, and heartbreaking at the same time. His lyrics are today considered literary art. His songs describe social inequalities in our supposedly classless society, friendship despite our human cracks, and solidarity with society's outsiders.
Jokke & Valentinerne were inducted into Rockheim Hall of Fame in 2011.
POING: Musical Wizards
POING has a unique ability to take something familiar and manipulate it into something entirely new and interesting. The three gentlemen have been playing together since 1999 and are one of Scandinavia's leading contemporary music ensembles.
In recent years, they've achieved great success with innovative and exceptionally original celebrations of Norwegian anniversary albums: Hellbillies' "Sylvspente Boots", Åge Aleksandersen's "Levva livet", and a-ha's "Hunting High and Low".
This is the fourth concert in the series, their second visit to us, and finally it's Jokke's turn.
