Johan Dalene is one of the greatest violin talents in the world right now. When he won the Carl Nielsen Competition in 2019 at age 18, he wasn't just the best artist on stage. He was the most interesting. That's star material.
For those of you lucky enough to hear him perform Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto in the University Aula with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra in autumn 2025, you know where the bar is set. How often does the audience stand on their chairs in that venerable hall, shouting in ecstasy?
BBC Music Magazine called his debut album 'one of the finest violin debuts of the last decade,' and in 2022 he was named Gramophone Young Artist of the Year. He is now Artist-in-Residence with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London.
We can't wait to give you Johan for a whole week in Risør, and pour more fuel on this violin-star bonfire that just keeps growing.
