Cecilie is one of Norway's most important dancers regardless of genre, with a career spanning over 40 years. She is internationally celebrated as a dancer who throws herself completely into every work.

As a performing artist, nothing can ever be repeated. There must always be some kind of new discovery, or listening, as if you're doing it for the first time.
Contemporary dance may not be as large a field as classical music, but make no mistake: Cecilie Lindeman Steen is from the very top shelf. She works in an art form that doesn't typically rank the way classical music does, so we'll let the awards speak to what kind of dancer is visiting us.
In 2000, she was named "Outstanding Dancer of the Year" by Ballet Tanz International, she has won two Rolf Gammleng Prizes, and of course Norwegian dance's highest honor: the Dance Information Norway Honorary Prize.
She is especially known for going into works, movements, and roles deeper and more intensely than most find comfortable.
